Easiest Crank Sensor for 944
The current computer (DME / ECU / EMS) in your Porsche has its limitations. They break and repair is not always possible. When performing a 944 turbo, it is wise to use a new programmable ECU.
A good solution is then to use an aftermarket programmable ECU such as Megasquirt, Vems, KMS, MSD, Maxxecu, or one of the many others.
The most important signal for these programmable ECUs is the BDP (OR VR) sensor (Crankshaft position sensor).
Because the Porsche 944 is original with a double BDP (VR) sensor, this is a difficult setup for many systems to get started. Often used a so -called Audi trigger method with the camshaft sensor as input. However, this has disadvantages.
We have looked at what is available on the market and then decided that this can be better and cheaper. The result is allowed, this is the best, simplest and cheapest solution for mounting a VR sensor with 36-2 trigger wheel on a 944.

This kit is suitable for mounting a crankshaft sensor for the Porsche 924S, 944, 951 (Turbo) engine blocks. And is a "must have" if a programmable ECU is chosen. With this ready -made kit you can mount the sensor on your engine block. In the kit the sensor, sensor tuning and the trigger wheel are included.

Description :
The sensor gest is mounted on the crankcase. Due to the construction of this plate it is very stiff and the mounting is very sturdy. This ensures a very solid base and the sensor does not have to be dismantled when replacing the V-belts.
After 4 trial versions we had a perfect bracket to be mounted.
The sensor gest is made of anodized aluminum with a 3D printed nylon holder on which the sensor can be attached. This holder is very strong and the sensor can be adjusted to the trigger wheel in the holder.
The trigger wheel falls nicely behind the distribution caps and is therefore well protected against dirt.
Before assembling this, it must be fixed on the pulley with 4 small lasers. The distribution belt does not have to be dismantled. With just a small hole of 10 mm in the hood, the sensor is mounted in position. The trigger wheel supplied in the kit has a 36-2 ratio, which is the standard in the application of modern programmable ECUs.
This kit is suitable for vehicles with and without air conditioning unlike other kits!
With the support, extra long bolts are also included to be able to attach the sensor firmly to the crankcase.
